Service & Commissioning Engineer
South Glos. Permanent. Competitive negotiable salary plus expenses and offshore allowances. You must be eligible to live and work permanently in the UK. Our Client is a multi-disciplined engineering company with a wide range of experience in oil, gas, petrochemical and water. They are an international market leader in the design and manufacture of control systems. The job is to carry out all on-site installations and commissioning activities in locations around the world. Directly Supervising Client contractors & Company Sub-contractors.
Look after the company’s interests at all times. Maintain strict confidentiality on all matters relating to company business. Ensure that the Company’s procedures are followed. Preparation and production of spare parts quotations. Update client warranty logs, working through customer complaint actions, and assisting with the Quality department and producing corrective actions and new procedures. Be available on call on selected evenings and weekends to answer customer breakdown alerts. Carry out all on-site installation commissioning and client training activities both in UK and overseas.
To act as a Duty Engineer at the company’s offices, unless otherwise committed, as part of a support contract with clients. Carry out Works System Test in line with FAT procedures. Maintaining a valid calibration certificate for test equipment issued by the company. Responsible for the safe completion of all work activities and for maintaining a valid offshore survival and fire training certificate. Maintain a filing system in accordance with ISO 9001:2008 and standard procedures. Liaison with secretarial resource. Maintain daily log of commissioning activities. Issue as-built drawings and outstanding punch lists with final visit reports. Ensure that the commissioning and testing quality meets the specification requirements. Laptop with Skype communications and office equipment supplied, together with commissioning tools including test and analysis equipment.
Meet project time-scales for successful delivery of installation and commissioning programmes. Maintain and promote professional, effective and harmonious relationships within the Company and customer representatives. Promote all aftermarket sales streams including spare parts, service support contracts & ASL aftermarket training programmes, inline with agreed budgets. Supervise certificated engineering onsite service Sub-contractor’s, including company vendor site personnel. Supervise and carry out aftermarket service training programmes both in-house and at the customer’s site premises. Qualified to Degree / HNC level.
