Job Title: (Contract) Blackberry Application Developer.
Based: Gloucester - though the work can be primarily carried out in a home-based capacity, the successful applicant would be required to work from a Gloucester/Cheltenham office for 1-2 days per week.
Project Length: 6 weeks.
Rate: Negotiable, competitive against market rates and with relevant experience.
We are currently working alongside a small but growing organisation specialising in the development of Mobile Phone applications (iOS/Android/Blackberry/Windows Mobile) across a variety of industries and sectors. Working in a small team including other developers, graphic designers, artworkers and project managers, you will be tasked with delivering cutting-edge applications efficient in their functionality and highly stylish in their design and delivery.
For this specific project, you will be tasked with the conversion of an iOS application to Blackberry platform, so you will work on the project from initial requirements gathering stage through to final delivery, giving the opportunity to gain exposure to all aspects of this project.
Within this project, the role would primarily be home-based, but you would be required to travel to work from the client's office in Gloucester 1-2 days per week. Given that much of the work will be home-based in nature, it is imperative that you will have demonstrable commercial experience of developing mobile applications and have enough knowledge and experience to work successfully independently and remotely. Strong communication already exists between the team who are all experienced in working remotely, so the successful applicant must be comfortable with this working environment.

The iOS application which requires conversion is one that they produced themselves, so all information required for this transition is easily accessible to the successful applicant.
They are ideally seeking a Developer with prior commercial experience of developing applications for the business domain. Whilst the successful applicant might have experience with a variety of languages, we feel that it would be highly beneficial for the successful applicant to have had at least some commercial exposure of producing Blackberry Applications.
